About this role

Minimum qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • Recognised close protection qualification (e.g., SIA, policing, or military).
  • 10 years of experience in security, law enforcement, or the military, including executive or dignitary protection responsibilities.
  • Experience in tactical or operational executive and dignitary protection globally.

Experience coordinating overseas travel and logistics.

  • Preferred qualifications:
  • Executive Protection/Dignitary Protection accreditation.
  • 5 years of experience analyzing intelligence and threat reports to determine the risk level to a location, event, or person so that resources can be scoped appropriately.
  • 5 years of demonstrated experience with Executive Protection/Dignitary Protection (EP/DP) or event security operations documents.
  • Ability to work flexible/non-standard corporate schedules (including holidays) and frequent travel domestically/internationally, when needed.
  • Leadership skills and the ability to mentor/coach/lead teams with varying degrees of experience and tenure.

As a member of GSRS you will help develop a culture where safety, security and resiliency are integrated into every facet of Google, including the creative process. You will help us continually identify, evaluate and monitor enterprise risks that could affect business activities and provide business leaders the information they need to make critical decisions. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to create innovative strategies and develop programs that drive sustainable effectiveness.

As a Protective Services Operations Manager, you will provide end-to-end implementation of large, complex protection projects, utilising your experience and initiative to deliver. You will directly support security leadership while executing critical executive protection operations, working directly with the Principal. You are proactive, detail-oriented, and serious about security and commitment to confidentiality.

You will play a key role in supporting strategic planning, where you will develop stronger external stakeholder relationships (e.g., with law enforcement or government agencies). You will act as a subject-matter expert in the protective services industry, responsible for client and staff liaison while coordinating with supporting teams, agencies, or vendors to ensure security requirements are met in a timely and professional manner. You will solve complex problems where there sometimes isn't a defined solution and make balanced decisions, using impeccable judgement to operate independently or as part of a team in fast-paced, dynamic environments.

Responsibilities

  • Support leadership through a combination of executive protection operations and strategic security planning initiatives.
  • Deliver end-to-end implementation of large, complex protection projects, delivering comprehensive logistical and physical security support during frequent global travel with the Principal.
  • Collaborate and communicate effectively with multiple levels of leadership, and integrate people and processes to align interests in a more strategic manner.
  • Serve as a key resource for the senior executive team by coordinating and deploying safety and security assets, including conducting security advances and threat assessments to prepare for all executive travel.
  • Fulfil ad hoc duties and responsibilities to ensure the successful execution of executive protection operations, tracking key security metrics and maintaining detailed records to create scheduled reports.
