About this role

As Senior Network Security Engineer you are accountable for providing comprehensive customer support services, security platform/technology administration, capacity management, fault investigation & analysis, specialising in the core network (route/switch), wireless, load balancing and network/application security technologies - providing timely updates and ensuring the fault is given the correct level of priority and attention according to their contracted service level agreements (SLAs). This is a demanding support position with the ability to articulate solutions clearly and confidently to Cube customers with a high degree of technical knowledge across a broad range of technologies and products.

The role is a permanent position within our Managed Service Team. Having experience across with Juniper, Palo Alto and Fortinet is a must

Primary Objectives: -

Engineering Support

  • Log all incidents into ITSM (IT Service Management) tool (reactive or proactive) according to the entitlement of service
  • Correctly logging incidents and service requests, categorising and prioritising them in line with customer contract, priority, and impact and service level agreements with the customer
  • Proactively monitoring (event management) and recording alerts into ITSM generated from network monitoring and management tools.
  • Attempt to diagnose and resolve escalated 2nd level incidents to existing problems or known errors.
  • Dealing with incoming incidents in a professional, courteous manner over the phone and via email

Industry Experience & Skills

  • 5+ years of customer-facing experience working closely to understand their business and technical requirements to then develop solutions
  • 5+ years of practical hands-on experience in lifecycle managing, supporting, and troubleshooting core network (route/switch), wireless and network/application security technologies
  • Proven experience with Palo Alto or Juniper route and switch technologies
  • Proven experience with Cisco security products (including ASA, and ISE) with a strong preference for relevant certifications
  • Experience with load balancing technology (i.e.: F5 or NetScaler)

Technical

Relevant current industry certifications are essential in 2 or more of the following

  • Cisco Certifications – CCNP, CCIE, etc
  • Juniper Certifications – JNCIA, JNCIE
  • Palo Alto Certifications – PCNSE
  • Experience in using Service Now.
  • Experience in Network Management (i.e. SolarWinds and Nagios).
