Warehouse Operations Manager
Job description
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Warehouse Operations Manager to lead and shape the operational backbone of our UK logistics network.
This is a high-impact leadership role where you will drive excellence across all warehouse functions — from inventory control and safety compliance to strategic planning and team development. You will play a key role in ensuring our operations not only meet but exceed performance targets, customer expectations, and future growth demands.
With full accountability for P&L, infrastructure, and workforce management, you will lead transformation initiatives, champion innovation, and embed a culture of continuous improvement.
Working closely with another Warehouse Operations Manager and reporting to the Director of Logistics, you’ll collaborate across departments to deliver operational excellence and an outstanding customer experience.
Key Responsibilities Health, Safety & Compliance
- Ensure the health, safety, and welfare of all employees and visitors
- Promote and enforce compliance with company policies and procedures
- Work closely with the Health & Safety Officer to maintain best practices
- Report any risks, incidents, or compliance concerns
Warehouse Operations
- Oversee the receipt, storage, and dispatch of goods
- Maintain high levels of inventory accuracy and stock integrity
- Deliver operational throughput targets while minimising errors and damages
- Optimise storage and distribution processes
Equipment & Facilities
- Manage maintenance and safe operation of all equipment
- Ensure warehouse infrastructure meets operational standards
Financial & Strategic Oversight
- Take full ownership of warehouse P&L, budgeting, and cost control
- Deliver performance targets and manage SMART KPIs
- Develop reporting systems to monitor efficiency and workflow
- Plan capacity and infrastructure in line with business growth
Leadership & Team Development
- Recruit, lead, and develop warehouse teams
- Conduct regular performance reviews and one-to-one meetings
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and high-performing culture
- Lead by example and champion company values
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with internal departments to enhance customer experience
- Resolve operational challenges and align with strategic goals

What We’re Looking ForEssential Skills & Experience
- Minimum 7 years’ experience in warehouse operations
- At least 5 years in a leadership role
- Strong knowledge of Warehouse Management Systems
- Experience managing budgets and financial performance
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving ability
- High attention to detail and process-driven mindset
- Good working knowledge of Excel and Word
- Strong Health & Safety awareness
Desirable
- Experience within furniture, homeware, or similar sectors
- Exposure to e-commerce operations and systems
- Knowledge of Lean, 5S, or continuous improvement methodologies
