Demand is broad — finance (operational-resilience rules), critical infrastructure, big tech, and the consultancies that serve them all.

What moves the number
- Live incident-command experience at silver/gold level justifies manager-grade entry — evidence it by incident, not course.
- Financial-services operational resilience (FCA/PRA-driven) is the best-paying corner of the sector.
- MBCI (Business Continuity Institute) is the recognised badge; command experience usually satisfies its entry route.
- JESIP and multi-agency exercise design experience is a stated requirement in many adverts — quote it directly.
- Consultancy day rates (£400–£700) beat salaried equivalents once you have a civilian reference or two.
