About this role

As an AML Team Leader, you will play a key role in leading a dynamic and motivated team focused on ensuring adherence to Anti-Money Laundering processes. You will work closely with governance, compliance, operations and other stakeholders to maintain high standards in quality assurance, training and operational excellence.

You will contribute to enhancing operational efficiency by managing quality scorecards, refining procedures on Confluence, and driving alignment through governance meetings. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a collaborative environment and is eager to make a meaningful impact in combating financial crime.

You Will Be Responsible For

  • Oversee team operations by managing staff schedules, addressing absences, and ensuring adequate coverage to maintain productivity and team morale.
  • Act as a reliable point of reference, providing expert guidance and promptly addressing team queries or escalations.
  • Managing ramp-up plans, performance improvement plans (PIPs), and addressing QA queries effectively.
  • Assigning and following up on updates or creation of internal operational procedures.
  • Managing quality scorecards and training material.
  • Assuring the quality and effectiveness of training programs to support team readiness and adherence.
  • Tracking and following up on tasks to ensure timely resolution.
  • Preparing reports and conducting investigations in relation to training and quality.
  • Leading or contributing to cross-functional projects that enhance AML best practices.

Our Successful Candidate Will Have The Following

  • Strong leadership and team management capabilities, including performance reviews and development planning.
  • Ability to work independently and excellent organisational and time-management skills for handling diverse responsibilities.
  • Proficiency in using tools like Confluence and familiarity with QA methodologies.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with compliance, governance, MLROs, operations and cross-functional teams..
  • Strong communication skills and an ability to provide accurate and relevant information to stakeholders
  • A creative mindset with the ability to think outside the box and propose innovative ideas and see those ideas through to completion.
  • Capable of collaborating with other departments to resolve complex queries and grow internal relationships.
  • Ability to meet deadlines on a day-to-day basis and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work well with others and be an ambitious team player.
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office and Google Apps.
