Overview

Your investigative interviewing and evidence-handling skills from policing translate directly into corporate due diligence and intelligence assignments.

About this role

Associate, Business Intelligence and Investigations

An international risk advisory firm is looking to appoint an Associate to its Business Intelligence & Investigations practice in London.

The role will deliver complex investigative and intelligence-led assignments, including enhanced due diligence, pre-transaction due diligence, complex corporate investigations and other sensitive matters.

The work is often challenging and requires the ability to investigate situations where information may be limited, fragmented or difficult to verify.

There is a strong emerging and frontier markets focus, with assignments potentially covering Central and Eastern Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. Sector exposure will include energy, extractives, infrastructure and telecommunications, among others.

The Associate will also work alongside colleagues from other areas of the firm, including security, protective services and conflict-focused operations, providing exposure to multidisciplinary assignments beyond traditional business intelligence and investigations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver enhanced due diligence, pre-transaction due diligence and complex investigative assignments.
  • Conduct open-source and human-source research across challenging jurisdictions.
  • Analyse and corroborate information from multiple sources and produce clear, commercially relevant findings.
  • Prepare high-quality written reports and briefings for clients and senior colleagues.
  • Support senior team members with client relationships, proposals, pitches and business development.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues across investigations, intelligence, security and protective services.
  • Support assignments involving emerging and frontier markets.
  • Travel internationally where required.

Candidate Profile

We are interested in individuals with two years of experience in corporate intelligence and investigations, particularly enhanced and pre-transactional due diligence.

Candidates should demonstrate strong investigative and analytical skills, excellent written communication and the ability to work effectively on complex and sensitive matters. Experience covering emerging or frontier markets would be particularly relevant, as would language skills.

The position would suit someone who enjoys complex investigative work but also wants broader exposure to clients, business development and multidisciplinary risk advisory assignments.
