Compliance Manager

Glasgow (hybrid - 2 days a week on site)

To start mid-November/ start of December for 14 months

A leading international organisation is seeking an experienced Compliance Manager to join its global Compliance function for a 14-month contract.

Reporting directly to the Head of Compliance, the successful candidate will play a key role in managing regulatory compliance risk across the global organisation, providing practical advice and support to businesses across multiple jurisdictions.

This is a highly visible role, working collaboratively with senior stakeholders and global business teams to maintain high standards of regulatory compliance and support the continued development of the Compliance function.

The key roles and responsibilities for this person will include

  • Supporting the Head of Compliance in managing regulatory compliance risks, including Anti-Bribery & Corruption, Data Protection and International Sanctions
  • Monitoring new and emerging regulatory requirements and supporting the implementation of relevant actions across the Group
  • Developing, reviewing and maintaining compliance policies, processes and internal controls
  • Conducting compliance risk assessments, maintaining compliance risk registers and implementing appropriate risk mitigation measures
  • Acting as the Group's Data Protection SME, including ownership and development of Data Protection policies, processes and controls
  • Developing and delivering Data Protection awareness campaigns and training, alongside ongoing monitoring and testing
  • Supporting the Group's international sanctions risk programme, with particular focus on the global supply chain
  • Conducting risk-based screening and monitoring of global suppliers, customers and relevant sales opportunities
  • Identifying sanctions risk red flags and escalating issues appropriately to the Head of Compliance
  • Working closely with global business teams to provide compliance advice relating to the appointment and renewal of sales agents and authorised resellers
  • Conducting onboarding and renewal due diligence across the sales representative network
  • Overseeing Anti-Bribery & Corruption training requirements for sales representatives

The ideal candidate requirements for this role will include the following

  • Proven experience within a regulatory compliance environment, ideally within a global organisation
  • Strong knowledge and practical experience of Data Protection within an international business
  • Experience across areas such as Anti-Bribery & Corruption, International Sanctions and regulatory risk management
  • Strong understanding of compliance policies, processes, controls and risk assessments
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to build effective relationships across international businesses
  • Self-motivated and proactive, with a genuine interest in using compliance to drive positive business change
  • Ability to work independently while also contributing effectively within a wider team
  • Strong organisational and workload management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with strong attention to detail
