Compliance & Client Onboarding Manager

Boutique Commercial Law Firm

An established and successful commercial boutique law firm is looking to appoint a Compliance & Client Onboarding Officer Manager to take ownership of its client onboarding and day-to-day compliance function.

This is a newly created role offering the opportunity to build and improve processes while working closely with partners and fee earners.

Key responsibilities include

  • Managing the end-to-end client and matter onboarding process.
  • Overseeing CDD, AML, KYC, sanctions and PEP screening.
  • Reviewing risk assessments, source of funds/wealth and enhanced due diligence.
  • Maintaining and developing compliance policies, procedures and registers.
  • Conducting compliance audits and file reviews.
  • Providing practical compliance advice and training to staff.
  • Monitoring regulatory developments and implementing relevant changes.
  • Overseeing file closure and maintaining appropriate compliance records.
  • Identifying opportunities to improve systems, processes and controls.

About you

The firm are looking for an experienced compliance, AML, risk or client onboarding professional, ideally with experience within a law firm or regulated professional services environment.

You will have strong knowledge of AML and legal regulatory requirements, excellent attention to detail, and the confidence to work with and challenge partners and fee earners where appropriate. A practical, commercially minded approach is important, as is the ability to work autonomously and take ownership of the function.
