We are seeking an experienced Cyber Security Engineer to join a major organisation and deliver a range of Cyber Security uplift initiatives and projects.

This is a hands-on engineering role requiring experience across the full technical delivery lifecycle: discovery, design and build

You will work across Microsoft security technologies, SIEM/logging, MFA, Essential Eight uplift and hybrid infrastructure environments, while working closely with technical teams and stakeholders to deliver approved security solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the *design and build*of Cyber Security uplift initiatives.
• Undertake technical discovery, identify security gaps and develop appropriate solutions.
• Design, configure and implement Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) across legacy applications and systems.
• Redesign and optimise existing Microsoft Sentinel/SIEM environments.
• Expand logging and monitoring across systems and services, including onboarding data sources into Sentinel.
• Deliver Essential Eight uplift and remediation activities.
• Support Microsoft 365 and Azure security initiatives.
• Work across cloud, on-premises and hybrid environments.
• Support technical decommissioning, Business Continuity, High Availability and Backup uplift initiatives.
• Prepare technical documentation, procedures and implementation plans.
• Coordinate technical resources and cross-functional teams to deliver project outcomes.
• Identify technical risks, dependencies and gaps and develop appropriate mitigation strategies.
• Work closely with infrastructure, application and security teams to deliver technical changes through to completion.

Skills & Experience

We are looking for a hands-on Cyber Security Engineer with demonstrated experience taking security requirements from design through to build

Experience across one or more of the following is highly desirable:

• Microsoft Sentinel / SIEM / security logging
• Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA)
• Microsoft Entra ID / Azure AD
• Conditional Access
• Microsoft 365 and Azure
• Microsoft Security technologies
• Essential Eight and/or ISO/IEC 27001
• Active Directory and Group Policy
• Windows 11
• Cloud, on-premises and hybrid environments
• Virtualisation technologies
