Based in Nipaluna (Hobart), lead our cyber security operations capability across monitoring, triage and response. Reporting to the Manager of Cyber Security, you’ll support cyber security outcomes across our IT environments and partner with OT cyber security specialists to strengthen resilience for critical energy infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the cyber operations team across monitoring, triage, and response
  • Own day-to-day cyber incident processes and threat and vulnerability management
  • Guide threat detection, escalation and incident decision-making
  • Manage the SIEM supporting cyber operations lifecycle requirements
  • Partner with OT cyber specialists to triage, escalate and support OT operations
  • Maintain effective security systems, alerting and service pathways
  • Drive automation, service uplift and continuous improvement
  • Support projects with security advisory, assessment and controls
  • Build team capability, trust, and operational discipline

Skills & Experience

  • SOC or cyber operations leadership experience
  • SIEM, incident response and threat detection skills
  • Team leadership, coaching, and service improvement experience
  • Relevant tertiary qualification, certification, or equivalent demonstrable experience
  • Threat hunting and adversarial mindset

About Your Team

Cyber Security is recognised as a risk and resilience function at Hydro Tasmania, sitting within Enterprise Risk and Assurance. You’ll lead the cyber security operations capability, building and improving monitoring, triage and response. The team works alongside OT cyber security, cyber risk, identity, and security architecture specialists to deliver practical security outcomes across Hydro Tasmania’s critical energy environment.
