What this job involves

As a Facilities Manager at JLL, you'll take full ownership of managing and maintaining a diverse portfolio of owned properties and leased premises across the NSW/ACT region. This role places you at the heart of day-to-day operations, ensuring exceptional service delivery for our client while maintaining the highest standards of compliance and performance. You'll oversee site budgets, accounting and finance functions, maintenance and operations, contract services, and procurement of materials, equipment, and supplies. Your portfolio will span approximately 90 retail sites and 2 major commercial/corporate properties, including prestigious corporate head offices. Based at the client's corporate office at Darling Park, Sydney, you'll be the trusted partner who ensures every facility operates seamlessly, every day. What your day-to-day will look like:*

  • Lead and inspire your facilities team, fostering a collaborative environment where everyone is empowered to deliver their best work
  • Partner closely with clients and stakeholders, building trusted relationships and ensuring their needs are met with professionalism and care
  • Oversee comprehensive site budgets, financial reporting, and analysis to ensure cost-effective operations and budget compliance
  • Manage vendor relationships and procurement processes, ensuring quality service delivery and value for money across all contracted services
  • Conduct regular site inspections across retail and commercial properties, identifying opportunities for improvement and ensuring operational excellence
  • Ensure strict compliance with occupational health and safety requirements, implementing proactive risk management strategies to protect all building occupants
  • Oversee critical building systems including CRAC units, chiller systems, fire protection, mechanical and electrical systems, and BMS platforms
  • Manage occupancy services and helpdesk operations, ensuring responsive and efficient support for all facility users
  • Monitor and interpret commercial contracts, ensuring all parties meet their obligations and service levels are maintained

Required qualifications:*

  • Proven experience in facilities management, property management, or a related field with a track record of delivering best practice outcomes
  • Demonstrated people management skills with the ability to inspire, develop, and lead high-performing teams
  • Experience working in corporate environments, including direct dealings with executive-level stakeholders
  • Strong knowledge of local occupational health and safety requirements and compliance frameworks
  • Understanding of critical facilities operations and infrastructure management
  • Technical knowledge of building systems including CRAC, chillers, fire protection, mechanical and electrical systems, and BMS platforms
  • Proven ability to understand, interpret, and manage commercial contracts effectively
  • Strong budget management and financial analysis capabilities
  • Current and valid driver's license with willingness to travel, including interstate when required

Preferred qualifications:*

  • Tertiary qualification in facilities management, property management, engineering, or related discipline
  • Experience managing mixed-use portfolios including both retail and commercial properties
  • Demonstrated experience managing large-scale corporate head office environments
  • Vendor management experience for specialized technical services
  • Certification in facilities management (e.g., FMA, IFMA) or project management
  • Advanced proficiency in CAFM (Computer-Aided Facilities Management) systems and financial management software
