Step into a visible leadership role at St Johns Park Bowling Club, where you will shape both the customer experience and the experience of the team delivering it. We are seeking a capable, hands-on Duty Manager who can lead with care, make sound operational decisions and keep a complex club environment running safely and smoothly.

Reporting to the General Manager and working closely with Department Managers and the Duty Management team, you will oversee Club operations on shift and ensure consistent service, safety and compliance standards.

This role combines people leadership with practical technical responsibility. You will be expected to understand the operational systems behind gaming, bars, catering, security and facilities, respond confidently when issues arise, and escalate appropriately when specialist support is required.

The role is Full-Time based on a 4 week rotating roster, including morning, overnight and weekend shifts, as well as public holidays. Flexibility and availability to work across a rotating roster is essential.

Key Responsibilities

  • To work in conjunction with senior management to oversight all aspects of the club operation with a view to ensuring high standards of service.
  • Lead and mentor a team of new and existing Club Attendant and Team Leaders to ensure high standards of service.
  • Assisting with staff training and skills gaps.
  • Maintain high standards of customer service, addressing customer issues or concerns promptly and professionally.
  • Managing the day-to-day operations of the club in line with legislations with the mindset of safety and compliance.
  • Monitor and enforce RSA, RCG and club compliance requirements, Liquor and Gaming, WHS etc.
  • Cash handling, reconciliations and shift reporting.
  • May be responsible for a portfolio eg rostering, security, compliance, etc.

About You

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar role
  • Must have flexibility of availability – to work a rotating 7 day roster
  • High level Frontline experience across bar, gaming, catering.
  • Demonstrated commitment to delivering Customer Service
  • Current RSA, RCG and ARCG certifications.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, confidence with a range of software platforms, and accurate reporting habits.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Strong working knowledge of AML / CTF, RSA, RCG/ARCG, liquor and gaming compliance, WHS and safe venue operations.
  • Strong work ethic and ability to work in a team environment and autonomously
