As an Investigations and Security Officer in our PECS (Prisoner Escort and Custody Services) team, you’ll play a vital role in protecting people, information, and physical assets across a complex operational environment. You’ll lead and support investigations, provide expert security advice, and help ensure the highest standards of compliance and integrity across the contract.

This is a role with real purpose. Your work will help maintain safe and secure custody environments, strengthen trust in critical public services, and support a positive security culture that has a direct impact on colleagues, service users, and communities. By identifying risks, supporting continuous improvement, and driving high standards, you'll help create impactful solutions that contribute to a safer future.

What you’ll do as an Investigations and Security Officer

You’ll be entrusted to

• Conduct investigations into operational incidents and security matters in line with relevant procedures, policies, and legislation.
• Provide expert advice and guidance to operational managers on investigation methodologies, security matters, and best practice.
• Gather, analyse, and assess intelligence to support informed decision-making and risk reduction activities.
• Complete security assurance and compliance activities across court custody suites and vehicle bases, ensuring adherence to contractual, regulatory, and corporate requirements.
• Support the development and maintenance of security policies, procedures, monitoring systems, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Attend court proceedings, tribunals, workshops, and stakeholder meetings when required, representing the business professionally and providing evidence where necessary.

Does this sound like you?*

You’ll be a great fit for this role if you have…

• A formal investigation qualification, or you are working towards a recognised investigation-related qualification.
• Experience conducting investigations within a custodial, criminal justice, law enforcement, or similar regulated environment.
• A strong understanding of investigative principles, evidence handling, and risk and threat reduction practices.
• Excellent analytical, communication, and report-writing skills, with the ability to assess complex issues and recommend appropriate actions.
• A full UK driving licence and the flexibility to travel extensively and stay away from home when required and sometimes at short notice for a number of days.

Vetting and checks*

An Enhanced DBS check is required for this role. This includes spent and unspent convictions, cautions, and any relevant information held by local police, in accordance with the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act and safeguarding requirements. You will also complete an Occupational Health Questionnaire to allow us to provide any support needed for you to succeed in the role.
