Operations Manager – The Regent Health Club & Spa
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent
Position Overview
The Regent Health Club & Spa seeks an accomplished Operations Manager to oversee all aspects of daily operations within our facility, spanning four floors of a converted mill. The successful candidate will lead and inspire teams to deliver exceptional service, drive membership growth, and ensure operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute business strategies to increase membership, revenue, and overall profitability
- Achieve net member movement and retention targets
- Deliver market-leading service to members and guests
- Drive and retain membership through effective engagement
- Support managers in recruitment, development, training, and team engagement
- Motivate departments to achieve individual and club performance objectives
- Stay current with industry developments and best practices
- Maintain high standards of customer care, focusing on member retention
- Oversee maintenance, repairs, and cleanliness of all facilities, including pool and spa operations
- Manage complaints, incidents, accidents, emergencies, and theft
- Deliver occasional fitness training or coaching to maintain member engagement
- Manage cashing-up and stock records
- Utilize advanced management information systems to optimize operations and scheduling
- Ensure compliance with all health and safety policies and procedures
- Foster effective staff communication and encourage innovation
- Conduct weekly meetings with staff and contractors to ensure smooth operations
- Report directly to the Club Director
- Undertake additional duties as assigned by the Club Director Operations Manager
Candidate Profile
- Strong background and in-depth knowledge of the leisure industry
- Pool Plant Qualification desirable
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to motivate, mentor, and develop teams
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Experience and training in Pool Plant Management
- Valid First Aid at Work Certificate and Pool Plant Operators qualification (required)
- Flexible and adaptable approach to work, including availability for evenings, weekends, and additional shifts as needed
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in operations management (leisure/spa industry)
- Willingness to cover additional shifts and respond to operational needs
