The Role

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Regulatory & Compliance Officer to lead and oversee regulatory compliance, governance and quality assurance across the organisation. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, Ofsted requirements, safeguarding standards and organisational policies while promoting continuous service improvement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor compliance with fostering legislation, regulatory requirements and internal policies.
  • Support the organisation in maintaining Ofsted compliance and inspection readiness.
  • Conduct internal compliance audits and quality assurance reviews.
  • Review, develop and implement organisational policies and procedures.
  • Monitor safeguarding, data protection and regulatory compliance across the service.
  • Investigate compliance issues and recommend corrective actions.
  • Produce compliance reports, risk assessments and management information for senior leadership.
  • Maintain accurate compliance records and documentation.
  • Deliver compliance guidance and training to staff and foster carers where appropriate.
  • Work collaboratively with managers, social workers and external agencies to ensure high standards of governance and regulatory compliance.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives across the organisation.

Essential Requirements

  • Degree or equivalent professional qualification in a relevant discipline.
  • Experience working within a regulated social care, fostering, children's services or healthcare environment.
  • Sound knowledge of UK regulatory compliance, safeguarding and governance.
  • Experience conducting audits, monitoring compliance and implementing quality improvement initiatives.
  • Excellent report writing, organisational and analytical skills.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.

Desirable

  • Knowledge of fostering regulations, National Minimum Standards and Ofsted inspection frameworks.
  • Experience developing organisational policies and procedures.
  • Professional qualification in compliance, governance or quality management.
