Overview

Your threat assessment, multi-agency coordination and logical decision-making under pressure transfer directly to telecoms risk management.

About this role

As our new Risk Analyst you'll help shape how we manage risk in a fast-paced, ever-evolving telecoms business. You’ll turn complex challenges into clear insight, practical action and better decision-making, supporting the operations, customers, reputation and regulatory standards that matter most.

This is a high-impact opportunity to strengthen our risk and compliance approach, influence teams across the business and play a meaningful part in TalkTalk’s ambition to become the UK’s most recommended Wi-Fi provider.

Following the streamlining of the Risk and Compliance function ahead of the Head of Risk and Compliance’s departure in early November 2026, this role will take on the ongoing, business-as-usual risk and compliance activity in full, ensuring continuous coverage during and after the transition.

What you’ll get involved in

  • Identify, assess and monitor operational, technology, compliance and business risks, maintaining an accurate and up-to-date risk register within the GRC system.
  • Support the implementation, embedding and continuous improvement of the enterprise risk and compliance framework across the organisation.
  • Prepare accurate and insightful risk analysis and reporting for senior stakeholders and risk committees using advanced Excel techniques.
  • Work closely with internal stakeholders including IT, Finance, Legal, Technology and business teams to ensure risk management is integrated into day-to-day operations.
  • Conduct risk assessments, control testing and compliance reviews to identify gaps and support remediation activities.
  • Track and report on risk mitigation actions, escalating issues where necessary to ensure timely resolution.
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of risk policies, procedures and training materials that promote a strong risk-aware culture.
  • During the handover period, work directly with the outgoing Head of Risk and Compliance to absorb the streamlined ongoing activity and ensure a seamless transition of coverage.

What you’ll bring

The experience we’re looking for

  • Relevant proven experience working within a risk and compliance team, ideally in a regulated environment where pace, governance and practical judgement are key.
  • Proven experience of using Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC) systems to manage risk registers, assessments and reporting.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, including data analysis, modelling, pivot tables, charts and dashboards.
  • A relevant professional risk qualification such as the IRM Certificate in Risk Management or equivalent.
  • Demonstrable experience of implementing and embedding risk and compliance frameworks in a practical business setting.

Bonus points if you also have

  • Previous experience in the telecommunications sector.
  • Knowledge of UK regulatory requirements relevant to telecoms (for example Ofcom, GDPR and data protection legislation).
  • Familiarity with technology and cyber risk management practices.

The strengths that will help you thrive

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with the capacity to interpret complex information and present it clearly.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • High level of attention to detail combined with the ability to see the bigger picture.
  • Strong organisational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.

How you’ll make an impact

  • Committed to TalkTalk’s values of simplicity, customer focus and operational excellence.
  • Proactive, collaborative and solutions-oriented with a continuous improvement mindset.
  • Demonstrates integrity, accountability and a genuine passion for effective risk management.

If you’re ready to bring your risk and compliance expertise into a role where your insight will make a visible difference, we’d love to hear from you. Apply now and help us build a stronger, smarter and more resilient TalkTalk.
