About this role

Risk and Compliance Insight Analyst

London (Hybrid)

A leading investment manager is looking for a Risk and Compliance Insight Analyst to join our Second Line of Defence (2LOD) Risk team at an exciting stage in our growth journey. Working across Risk, Financial Crime and Compliance, you'll play a key role in supporting governance, assurance and risk event activities — while helping shape how insight, reporting and technology are used across the business.

You'll be part of a collaborative, evolving division where your work has real, visible impact. This role offers the chance to build broad experience across risk, compliance, financial crime and assurance, while contributing to meaningful improvements in processes, controls, reporting and stakeholder engagement.

This is an analyst-level role with genuine variety and visibility — and real scope to shape both the position and your future career in assurance, risk, financial crime or compliance. Prior Second Line of Defence experience is useful but not essential; what matters most is curiosity, strong analytical and organisational skills, attention to detail, and a willingness to learn.

Reporting to the Group Risk Manager, you'll own and maintain key insight, reporting and governance activities across our Second Line of Defence assurance and risk event processes — including supporting escalation reporting, managing data quality within our GRC tool, and helping the division deliver its objectives efficiently and effectively.

What you'll be doing

  • Working with Group Risk Managers to embed and manage the risk event process, including triage, escalation, reporting and root cause analysis
  • Managing and maintaining the central record of Second and Third Line assurance findings
  • Developing insight-led exception reporting, supporting business owners with evidence collation and timely closure of findings
  • Acting as day-to-day administrator for the GRC tool — generating reporting, escalating items to stakeholders and maintaining data quality
  • Managing the Second Line delivery plan, including coordinating governance reporting packs and action tracking
  • Monitoring and maintaining Compliance and Financial Crime monitoring plans
  • Supporting process and control testing, root cause analysis and evidence review with Second Line subject matter experts
  • Helping develop and deliver training for business stakeholders
  • Acting as a key interface between the business and Group Risk and Compliance

What we're looking for

  • A proactive, solutions-focused self-starter who always looks for a better way to do things
  • Strong analytical skills and excellent attention to detail — able to turn information into useful insight
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Confidence engaging with stakeholders and subject matter experts across the business
  • Strong organisational skills, developed in a dynamic environment
  • The ability to manage upwards, keeping tasks well planned and delivered on time
  • A lateral-thinking approach, with an appreciation for well-designed processes and controls
  • Genuine interest in using technology to improve team efficiency and business outcomes
  • Previous exposure to Second Line of Defence activities, first line controls programmes, or hands-on experience with insight and exception reporting is a plus
  • An interest in risk, compliance, financial crime, assurance or internal audit
  • A track record of driving your own development and learning

If you're curious, organised, and ready to build a career in risk and compliance, we'd love to hear from you.
