The Role
Do you have experience of conducting safety or liability investigations including ingathering evidence, interviewing witnesses, anaylsing information and report writing?
Reporting to the Safety Manager and supporting the Safety & Risk team in the efficient reporting, administration and analysis of all safety (liability) related incidents. This will include coordinating immediate response, evidence gathering, establishing facts, identifying root cause analysis and oversight of corrective actions.
This role may suit an experienced safety professional, liability claims handler/ adjuster or an ex police/ law enforcement officer.
Based in our Glasgow Head Office, the post holder will be required to visit depots throughout the UK.
What You'll be Doing
- Gathering, reviewing and analyising evidence including CCTV footage, witness statements and documents.
- To be responsible for own caseload and to work autonomously in leading the delivery of timely and effective investigations and reports
- Prepare investigation reports, identify root causes and contributory factors and recommend actions to guide sustainable risk reduction measures
- Support the continuous improvement of safe working environment
- Ensure key holders are kept informed of investigation progress
About You
What We're Looking for
- Previous experience in safety related investigations and or liability claims handling
- A recognised safety qualification is preferred (NEBOSH, IOSH, NVQ/SVQ, PIP), however, safety training will be provided
- Excellent knowledge of investigation methods and the ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision
- Ability to demonstrate honesty, impartiality and professionalism when conducting investigations
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion
- Ability to exercise sound judgement when assessing evidence, facts and competing viewpoints
- Challenges inappropriate behaviour and promotes a strong culture of accountability
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and a working knowledge of MS Office
- A full UK driving licence and the ability to work away from home on a regular basis
