Role Description The Site Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Adelaide, SA, responsible for overseeing day-to-day construction activities and ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, and to the required quality standards. This role coordinates site operations, including supervising subcontractors, managing materials and equipment, and monitoring progress against program milestones. The Site Manager ensures compliance with health, safety, and environmental requirements, conducts regular site inspections, and maintains accurate site records and reports. The position works closely with project managers, engineers, and clients to resolve issues, manage risks, and support effective communication among all stakeholders. The Site Manager also contributes to continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to enhance site productivity and construction methods.

Qualifications

  • Candidates should possess strong site supervision and construction management skills, including experience coordinating trades, scheduling works, and overseeing daily site operations.
  • Candidates should possess robust knowledge of workplace health and safety, quality assurance, and environmental management practices within the construction industry.
  • Candidates should possess skills in stakeholder communication and leadership, including the ability to lead site teams, collaborate with project managers, and liaise effectively with clients and consultants.
  • Candidates should possess competency in construction documentation and reporting, including reading and interpreting drawings, maintaining site records, and using project management or site management software.
  • Candidates should ideally have proven experience in commercial or large-scale construction projects and a strong understanding of Australian building codes and standards.
  • Relevant qualifications such as a Certificate IV or Diploma in Building and Construction, or an equivalent trade or technical background, are highly regarded.
  • Candidates should demonstrate problem-solving ability, attention to detail, and the capacity to make sound decisions in a fast-paced site environment.
  • Current construction industry white card and, where applicable, additional site safety certifications would be beneficial.
