About this role

Alleppey Kitchen Ltd is looking for a motivated and organised Business Support Officer to support the day-to-day operational, compliance and administrative functions of our restaurant and pub business.

This is a varied role suited to someone confident working with business systems, compliance records, operational processes and management information.

The successful candidate will work closely with the owner and management team to improve internal processes, maintain accurate records and support the smooth running and continued development of the business.

Main Duties

  • Maintain and improve business administration and operational support systems.
  • Review existing business processes and identify practical improvements.
  • Maintain food-safety, health & safety and compliance documentation.
  • Support risk assessments, COSHH records and corrective-action records.
  • Monitor food-labelling, date-labelling and internal product-control processes.
  • Help prepare and maintain ingredient, allergen and product information.
  • Support documentation for products prepared and sold by the business.
  • Maintain staff training, compliance and administrative records.
  • Assist with the development and updating of internal procedures and SOPs.
  • Support the administration of EPOS, HR, accounting and document-management systems.
  • Prepare management information relating to sales, costs, labour and wastage.
  • Assist with supplier administration, pricing reviews and cost analysis.
  • Support invoice and receipt reconciliation.
  • Assist with payroll preparation and employee-hours information.
  • Prepare operational and financial information for management and the external accountant.
  • Support business-development projects and the introduction of new products and processes.

Person Specification

We are looking for someone who is

  • Organised and able to work independently.
  • Strong in record keeping and attention to detail.
  • Comfortable using computerised business systems.
  • Able to analyse information and identify areas for improvement.
  • Confident preparing reports and management information.
  • Interested in business operations, compliance and process improvement.
  • Willing to develop further knowledge of bookkeeping and finance administration.

A degree or relevant experience in business, health and safety, risk management, compliance, operations, finance or a related area would be advantageous.

Experience within hospitality, food production or a small business environment would also be beneficial, although full training will be provided.

Job Type: Full-time

Hours: 37.5 per week

Skilled Worker sponsorship may be considered for an eligible candidate, subject to the requirements of the UK Immigration Rules.
