Overview

Your regulatory compliance and investigative skills from policing align with monitoring and reporting duties.

About this role

Compliance Analyst – London Market Insurance Broker

Hybrid: 1 / 2 days a week in London

The opportunity

An excellent opportunity has arisen with a specialist London Market insurance broker, part of a wider international insurance group, for a Compliance Analyst to join its growing compliance function.

This is a particularly good opportunity for someone with insurance broking experience who has developed an interest in compliance and is looking to build a long-term career within the function.

The role will work closely with the existing Compliance Officer, supporting the delivery of the Compliance Monitoring Plan, Quality Assurance framework, regulatory reporting and management information across the business.

Crucially, there is a clear pathway to progress into a Compliance Officer position. This role is designed for someone who wants to develop their technical compliance knowledge, take on increasing responsibility and progress their career rather than remain at an analyst level.

What you'll be doing

You'll gain broad exposure across the compliance function, including:

  • Supporting the Compliance Monitoring Plan, particularly Quality Assurance across broking, claims and underwriting
  • Monitoring compliance with FCA, Group and internal policies and procedures
  • Supporting regulatory horizon scanning and assessing the impact of regulatory change
  • Supporting Consumer Duty and Product Governance activity
  • Assisting with FCA regulatory reporting and management information
  • Preparing MI and reports for senior management and Board-level stakeholders
  • Supporting product reviews and Product Governance data collection
  • Monitoring financial crime, sanctions, financial promotions and conflicts of interest
  • Supporting the investigation and management of complaints, breaches and errors & omissions
  • Maintaining risk and control registers
  • Supporting compliance training across the business
  • Attending the monthly Quality Assurance Committee
  • Helping maintain effective systems and controls across the business

What we're looking for

Insurance broking experience is important for this role.

We're particularly interested in candidates who understand how a commercial insurance broker operates, how risks are placed and distributed, and the regulatory considerations that come with working within the London Market.

You may already be working in a compliance role, or you could be coming from a broking, QA, risk or governance background and looking to make a move into compliance.

We're looking for someone with

  • Experience within commercial insurance broking / the London Market
  • An understanding of how commercial insurance is placed and the distribution chain
  • Some exposure to compliance monitoring, QA, risk or governance
  • An understanding of the key regulatory risks facing insurance brokers
  • Good communication skills and the confidence to work with stakeholders across the business
  • A genuine interest in developing a career in compliance
