Role Overview

Compliance Chain is a digital technology company providing Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) solutions, primarily within the built environment sector.

The role of Compliance Manager will lead the implementation, development and continuous improvement of the company’s compliance workstreams, with particular ownership of its ISO management systems and its assessment activities under various certification schemes.

This role requires practical experience in auditing and management systems, particularly ISO standards such as ISO 9001 and ISO/IEC 27001. Additionally, a strong working knowledge of the UK built environment sector and its wider compliance requirements will support candidates in the supervision of the company’s assessment activities under leading certification schemes such as Common Assessment Standard and Safety Schemes in Procurement (SSIP).

The Compliance Manager will act as a key point of expertise across all levels within the company, ensuring that compliance requirements are acknowledged and embedded throughout.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the implementation, maintenance and continuous improvement of the company’s management systems.
  • Support the development and review of management system policies/procedures to ensure alignment with applicable requirements.
  • Ensure management system policies and procedures are embedded effectively across all company workstreams, while providing clear and practical guidance on compliance requirements.
  • Monitor changes to applicable ISO standards and other relevant requirements, assessing their impact on the company's management systems and day-to-day operations.
  • Monitor relevant changes to UK legislation, regulations, standards and industry guidance affecting the built environment and our assessment activities.
  • Coordinate internal and external audits, including preparation, evidence gathering, audit attendance and follow-up actions. Maintaining good rapport with key stakeholders.
  • Support and strengthen quality assurance processes to ensure assessments activities are conducted impartially, consistently, and in accordance with scheme requirements.
  • Identify opportunities for improving assessment methodologies, documentation, workflows, and communication.
  • Identify, assess and monitor compliance risks across the company.
  • Establish appropriate compliance KPIs and management information.
  • Support the wider team to strengthen business continuity and resiliency initiatives.
  • Support clients and client-facing teams with compliance-related queries where appropriate.
  • Collaborate with the wider team to ensure that relevant requirements are appropriately reflected in operational processes.
  • Ensure appropriate compliance and security requirements are incorporated into internal/external onboarding and review processes.

Essential Skills, Knowledge and Experience

  • Proven experience in a Compliance Manager, Lead Auditor, Compliance Consultant, or similar role.
  • Demonstrable experience conducting audits and implementing management systems for core ISO standards, including: ISO 9001 (Quality Management) and ISO 27001 (Information Security Management).
  • Strong experience supporting organisations through external certification audits.
  • Working knowledge of risk management, governance, and compliance frameworks.
  • Excellent understanding of regulatory requirements and best practice management systems.
  • Experience developing policies, procedures, and compliance documentation.
  • Strong stakeholder management and client-facing consultancy skills.
  • Understand that compliance needs to support the company's customers, products and growth objectives

Desirable Skills, Knowledge and Experience

  • Lead Auditor certification in one or more core ISO standard.
  • Construction-related certification such as NEBOSH or equivalent.
  • Familiarity with digital platforms and software tools.

Pay: From £30,000.00 per year
