About this role

About East End Homes

We are a community-focused housing provider dedicated to providing local services that truly meet the needs and aspirations of our residents. By living our values—listening, being trusted, caring, and constantly improving—we ensure that our team works in a supportive, friendly environment where they can make a tangible impact on the lives of people in East London.

The Role

We are looking for a Compliance Officer to join our Asset Management team at Resolution Plaza. You will be the "engine room" of our safety data, supporting our three contract managers to ensure our residents are safe in their homes.

This is a busy, fast-paced role where no two days are the same. You’ll be responsible for the vital admin behind the "big six" compliance areas (Gas, Electric, Fire, Water, Lifts, and Asbestos). One moment you might be uploading safety certificates or raising contractor orders; the next, you’ll be on the phone with a resident to book an urgent electrical check or preparing the paperwork for a legal access route. We are currently transitioning to new systems, so you’ll play a key part in keeping our records accurate during this change.

The Person

  • A Multi-tasker: You are comfortable in an environment where priorities can shift quickly. You can handle requests from different managers while keeping your eye on the finish line.
  • A People Person: You are confident and empathetic when speaking with residents. You understand that sometimes people are reluctant to grant access, and you’ll use your communication skills to explain why these safety checks matter.
  • Detail Oriented: Whether it’s updating our MRI Orchard system or managing spreadsheets, you take pride in ensuring data is 100% accurate.
  • Willing to Learn: You don’t need to be a compliance expert yet. We are looking for someone with an aptitude for systems and a genuine interest in building a career in building safety.
  • Tech Literate: You are comfortable with Microsoft Office (especially Excel) and are ready to learn new housing management software.

The Benefits

  • Professional & Personal Development: This is a real entry point to a career in housing compliance. We will support your growth with training and courses, helping you move toward management roles in the future.
  • Compensation & Benefits: A salary of £36,371.85 to £38,501.65, alongside generous benefits and a culture that recognises hard work and initiative.
  • Working Culture & Environment: You’ll join a supportive and dedicated team at our head office. We value kindness, respect, and professional accountability.
  • Meaningful Work: You will go home every day knowing that your work directly contributes to the safety and well-being of the local community.
  • Local Impact: We work where our residents live. You’ll be part of a community-based organisation that truly cares about the East London area.
