Job Title: Compliance Officer

Kelwel Care is looking for a proactive and organised Compliance Officer to join our team in Brentwood. This role is essential in ensuring the organisation operates in full compliance with UK legislation, regulatory requirements, and internal policies, while maintaining high standards of safeguarding and care for children and young people.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor compliance with Ofsted and local authority requirements
  • Conduct internal audits and compliance checks - calls required
  • Check in regularly with candidates on list
  • Support safer recruitment processes, including DBS checks, right-to-work checks, and onboarding
  • Maintain accurate compliance records
  • Guiding candidates through the compliance process
  • Ensure staff complete mandatory and role-specific training
  • Prepare compliance reports for senior management
  • Using systems such as Salesforce

About You

  • Experience in a compliance, regulatory, or governance role
  • Confident telephone manner
  • Able to work independently and manage priorities
  • Highly organised with excellent attention to detail
  • Strong communicator, able to support teams
  • Proactive, solution-focused, and committed to continuous improvement

Experience in children’s or social care and knowledge of Ofsted/safeguarding regulations is desirable but not essential.
