Your intelligence analysis and OSINT skills from policing are directly transferable to this role.

About this role

Job Introduction

Turn digital intelligence into action and help make our communities safer.

Join our Data, Intelligence and Information Hub and use open-source intelligence (OSINT), social media intelligence (SOCMINT) and digital evidence to tackle serious violence, organised crime, retail crime and anti-social behaviour.

You'll gather intelligence from online sources, social media, CCTV and partner agencies. You'll assess information, identify risks and turn complex data into clear intelligence that supports action.

Working with Community Safety, Public Protection, Integrated Enforcement teams, the police and other partners, you'll help prevent crime and tackle community harm. You'll produce intelligence briefings, map crime patterns, identify key links and develop evidence packages for investigations and enforcement activity.

This is a varied role where no two days are the same. One day you could be tracking emerging issues online. The next, you could be supporting an enforcement operation or presenting intelligence to partners. Your work will help identify offenders, protect vulnerable people and support safer neighbourhoods.

We're looking for someone who is curious, analytical and digitally confident. You'll know how to find reliable information, spot what matters and communicate findings clearly. You'll be comfortable writing reports, presenting intelligence and working with a wide range of stakeholders.

Strong partnership working is essential. You'll build effective relationships across organisations, share intelligence responsibly and help ensure the right information reaches the right people at the right time.

In return, you'll develop specialist skills in digital investigations, intelligence analysis, OSINT, SOCMINT and digital evidence. Most importantly, you'll see the direct impact of your work on residents, businesses and communities.

If you're motivated by solving problems, uncovering insight and making a real difference, we'd love to hear from you.
