We are looking for a hands-on Regulatory Compliance professional to provide short-term support while several senior roles are recruited across the Risk and Compliance team.

The business offers unregulated credit to SMEs, e-money accounts and savings products, together with associated payment and account features. This is a practical role providing day-to-day regulatory advice, guidance and incident support to first-line teams.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide practical regulatory advice and guidance to first-line teams.
  • Review and approve financial promotions, customer communications and product literature.
  • Advise on new products, product features, pricing, processes and other business changes.
  • Support the management, investigation, escalation and reporting of regulatory and operational incidents.
  • Advise on Consumer Duty, including fair value, customer understanding, customer support and clear communications.
  • Provide guidance on banking, savings, payments and e-money requirements.
  • Apply good credit practices to the business’s unregulated SME lending products.
  • Support complaints handling and ensure customers receive fair and consistent outcomes.
  • Respond to day-to-day regulatory queries from Product, Operations, Marketing and Commercial teams.
  • Help maintain compliance policies, procedures, controls and regulatory records.
  • Provide practical support and guidance to the existing Compliance Officers.

Essential experience

  • Regulatory compliance experience within banking, SME lending, e-money, payments, savings products or fintech.
  • Strong working knowledge of financial promotions, Consumer Duty, the Payment Services Regulations, Electronic Money Regulations and wider FCA Handbook requirements.
  • Broad knowledge of good credit practices within an SME or business lending environment.
  • Experience providing regulatory advice and incident support directly to first-line teams.
  • Experience reviewing financial promotions, customer communications, new products and operational changes.
  • Knowledge of complaints, APP fraud, data protection, operational resilience and third-party risk requirements.
  • Comfortable working with Product, Operations, Marketing and Commercial stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with modern fintech systems and workflows, ideally including Jira.
  • Pragmatic and commercially aware, with the ability to explain regulatory requirements clearly.
  • Able to hit the ground running, work independently and ask sensible questions when clarification is required.

The role reports to the Senior Compliance Manager and works alongside four Compliance Officers. It would suit a strong mid-level Regulatory Compliance professional who enjoys getting into the detail and providing practical, proportionate advice within a fast-paced environment.
