About this role

Job Summary

We are seeking a proactive, experienced, and detail-oriented Quality & Compliance Officer to support and maintain high standards of quality, safeguarding, and regulatory compliance across our residential children's homes in Liverpool and London.

The Quality & Compliance Officer will play a key role in ensuring that our homes operate in accordance with Ofsted requirements, the Children's Homes (England) Regulations 2015, the Quality Standards, safeguarding legislation, organisational policies, and best practice.

Working closely with the Responsible Individual, Registered Managers, and wider management team, you will provide effective quality assurance and compliance oversight across the homes. You will undertake regular audits and monitoring, identify areas for improvement, review records and documentation, and support managers in implementing effective action plans.

This role is suited to someone who is passionate about improving outcomes for children and young people and who has a strong understanding of safeguarding, residential childcare, regulatory compliance, and quality assurance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct regular quality assurance audits, inspections, and compliance checks across homes.
  • Review children's files, care plans, risk assessments, safeguarding records, incidents, complaints, and staff documentation.
  • Monitor compliance with Ofsted regulations, Quality Standards, and safeguarding requirements.
  • Support and monitor Regulation 44 and Regulation 45 actions and improvement plans.
  • Identify gaps, risks, and recurring issues and recommend corrective and preventative actions.
  • Maintain accurate audit records, action plans, compliance reports, and evidence of improvement.
  • Support Registered Managers in preparing for Ofsted inspections and regulatory monitoring.
  • Provide constructive challenge and guidance to managers and staff to improve practice.
  • Promote a strong culture of safeguarding, accountability, quality, and continuous improvement.
  • Keep up to date with changes in legislation, regulations, and best practice.
  • Travel between Liverpool and London homes as required.

Experience & Requirements

  • Experience in quality assurance, compliance, auditing, safeguarding, or residential childcare.
  • Good understanding of Ofsted requirements, Children's Homes Regulations 2015, and Quality Standards.
  • Experience conducting audits and monitoring action plans.
  • Strong knowledge of safeguarding and children's welfare.
  • Excellent attention to detail, organisation, communication, and report-writing skills.
  • Ability to work independently and provide professional challenge when required.
  • Relevant Social Care, Residential Childcare, Quality Assurance, or Leadership & Management qualification is desirable.
  • Willingness to travel between Liverpool and London.

This is a multi-site role, and the successful candidate will be required to travel between our Liverpool and London locations.

Pay: £28,000.00-£34,000.00 per year
