About this role
A prestigious private bank with a significant and growing presence in the UK is seeking a Wealth Planning Business Manager, with strong PMO expertise. This candidate will be responsible for the operational oversight, governance control, and regulatory integrity of the wealth compliance project functions
Key Responsibilities
Governance & Risk Management
- Work closely with Risk and Compliance to maintain robust controls.
- Oversee File review outcomes and Suitability report quality
- Support internal and external FCA audits and ensure that any findings or remedial actions are addressed promptly. Use findings and remedial actions to better improve processes.
Operational Oversight & Process Control
- Own and develop the end-to-end suitability process.
- Ensure that every element of the process runs effectively and efficiently. Maintain an overall culture of minimal errors, compliance and good outcomes for clients.
- ·Ensure documentation standards meet FCA expectations.
- Improve workflow efficiency
- Oversee the operational workflows of the wealth planning workstream,
- Identify inefficiencies and bottlenecks in administrative and advisory processes a
- Ensure all wealth planning processes comply with FCA regulations
- Manage capacity planning and coordinate support to ensure the business is adquately supported to be able to deliver commercial objectives.
Consumer Duty & Client Outcomes Oversight
- Ensure advice processes deliver good client outcomes under Consumer Duty.
- Support annual Consumer Duty Board reporting.
- Oversee remediation programmes where outcome gaps are identified.
- Complaints handling:
- Assist the off-team complaints handlers
- Act as liaison for complaints raised by clients against third parties through the wealth planning team.
- Submit and manage complaints raised against third parties by the bank.
Third-Party Provider Management
- Build and maintain strong relationships with third parties
- Negotiate terms and service agreements with providers to ensure value for money and high-quality service delivery.
- Monitor the performance of third-party providers and address any issues or concerns promptly.
- Facilitate the panel selection process and ensure high quality data and records are kept for all panel products
Project Management
- Lead and manage projects to improve the efficiency and effectiveness
- Coordinate cross-functional initiatives, ensuring timely delivery and alignment with business objectives.
- Prepare and present project updates to senior management and stakeholders.
Technical Resource
- Own all technical documentation
Stakeholder Engagement
- Act as liaison between: Wealth Planners, Relationship Managers, Compliance & Risk, Finance, Investment Services
- Act as a key point of contact for bank-wide initiatives, ensuring the wealth planning team is informed of and aligned with broader bank objectives.
Strategy & Business Planning
- Support the Head of Financial Planning in developing and executing a UK-compliant growth strategy.
- Embed Consumer Duty principles into commercial planning.
- Produce reports and research on market trends, competitor offering, changing products
Data Management
- Oversee the integrity of client data within the wealth planning systems, ensuring the correctness of files for audits and accurate management information can be extracted for reporting.
- Support the Head of Wealth Planning to prepare regular business updates, management information (MI) and strategic reports for the head of wealth planning and the Exco.
About You
- Extensive experience within UK financial planning or wealth management ideally in a PMO function or similar
- Strong understanding of FCA Handbook (COBS, SYSC, PROD)
- Experience operating under SMCR
- Experience in business management, operations, or practice management
- Demonstrated understanding of Consumer Duty requirements
