About this role
As Compliance Officer, your primary responsibility will be proactive driver and vehicle compliance at Lye, including monitoring tachograph data, drivers’ hours, working time requirements, driver licensing and maintenance compliance. You will identify emerging risks, ensure compliance actions are followed through and report significant concerns to the Transport Manager.
Alongside this primary responsibility, you will coordinate workshop maintenance scheduling and vehicle compliance at Lye, work closely with the Birmingham Compliance Manager to maintain consistent standards across both depots, provide holiday and operational cover at Birmingham when required, and participate in the company’s on-call rota. You may also support daily coach operations, including short-notice driver or vehicle changes and school or college route cover when required.
This is a hands-on role requiring sound judgement, attention to detail and operational flexibility. Compliance remains the primary responsibility, and operational cover will be provided as required without compromising essential compliance duties.
